To clarify, our hosts were both named 'Paul', or as my husband referred to them, 'Chatty Paul' and 'Quiet Paul'. Gracious, informative and friendly hosts, who made us feel welcome and pampered from the moment we arrived. The property is the old 'Tinsmith's' house, beautifully restored and artfully decorated. It's a small, quaint B&B in the historic English village of Aylsham, my Mom's hometown.
A part of me wants to keep this gem to myself, but that would be selfish of me, so I will go on...and on and on...from the moment we arrived we were taken care of. Our suitcases were heavy, but we didn't have to carry them upstairs, that was taken care of for us. Our room was spacious with water/coffee/tea awaiting us. Although our bath was across the hall from our room, robes were provided for our modesty. The bathroom was large with a modern shower and huge, claw footed tub. We were assured there was plenty of hot water. When we came back late to the B&B from a night of pubbing, we were greeted with, 'How was your evening and what would you like for breakfast in the morning and at what time?' The breakfast choices were endless. My husband opted for the full English breakfast, while I chose the Spanish omelette. I don't know how chatty Paul remembered our specific requests, but he did. As well as the main dishes, there was yogurt, fresh fruit salad, orange juice, a variety of toasted breads, baked pastries, local marmalade, french-pressed coffee...all served in a lovely, bright sunroom. We felt spoiled rotten!
We stayed for 3 nights and wished it could have been longer. Every breakfast was delicious and varied, however, I chose the Spanish omelette twice because it was SO good! When we came back late in the evening, discreetly, our shades had been drawn, the bedside table lamps turned on, and our water replenished. We felt totally spoiled! Without going into detail, I thank Paul & Paul for going above & beyond their hosting duties when I made an inquiry about something. Although they've only lived in Aylsham since 2012, they are very knowledgeable about the local area. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and highly recommend the 'Tinsmith's' as a wonderful place to stay. And, yes, Dusty and Cleo are an added bonus : )(Taken from a Trip Advisor review)
